Hot and HUMID! Not sure I’ll bother straightening my hair this week! Lost cause.
This place is amazing. We’ve stayed at RIU Tropical Bay, I think in 2003 - this place is much of the same and more. We do have privileges at the other two RIUs here in Nuevo Vallarta.
There is a variety of restaurants and bars to choose from. The specialty ones take you only with reservations. Someone, somehow made reservations for us for the fusion restaurant last night, don’t know who or how, but we tried it. It was very good, the atmosphere very elegant. They gave us champagne when we arrived. Pumpkin soup with watermelon was an appetizer along with some other curious foods. I should have taken pictures of the meal, as the presentation was remarkable.
The guide on the bus from the airport to RIU told us it has been raining around the time happy hour starts, so I guess we have a tentative schedule! Today, the sun is out, we’ll go sit through our briefing and set up the day we’ll do our zip line tour. Afterwards we will go into Puerto Vallarta to wander around and enjoy the Mexican culture here. Of course we’ll try to find the bar with the balcony overlooking the town square!
